BCB's Charities of the Year 2024

Over the years BCB has chosen one charity to sponor for that year, however, for 2024 we are trying something different!

All of our team have been given the opportunity to nominate a charity they hold closely or feel strongly about and that team member or members will be their charities ambassador!
We have assigned one charity per month and our ambassadors can organise events throughout their month to raise awareness and money for their charity!

Our charities have been nominated, our months assigned so please meet...BCB's charities and their ambassadors!

March 2024 - Prostate Cancer UK

Charity Ambassador - Adam

About:

"1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. We work to give every man the power to navigate it. Whether that’s helping you to understand your risk, make the right choice about treatment or get the expertise you need to feel informed and in control.

We make every pound count. We’ve invested over £75 million into the best researchers in the world to unravel the complexity of prostate cancer, so we can give men precise and personalised care with the right treatments at the right time, for the best chance of living the full life they want.

The advances in testing, funded by our supporters – like huge improvements in MRI scans- are blazing a trail towards a screening programme. In the near future, every man at risk of prostate cancer could be invited for regular, accurate tests that can catch cancer early enough for a cure, saving thousands of our Dads, partners, brothers and friends every year."

July 2024 - Hope Rescue

Charity Ambassadors - Emily & Viola

About:

"Hope Rescue is the leading dog welfare charity that saves the lives of strays, abandoned and unwanted dogs in South Wales. Since 2005, our team has given a second chance to thousands of dogs that need a new start, from our dedicated facilities in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

We commit to take all the stray dogs from six Local Authorities in South Wales - Merthyr Tydfil, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and the western half of the Vale of Glamorgan - irrespective of their age, breed, or medical condition.

We help the most vulnerable dogs in our local communities, working closely with Local Authorities across South Wales to support them with their stray dogs and dogs seized from low welfare of illegal breeders. "

February 2025 - ARC Anna's Rescue Centre

Charity Ambassadors - Sarah

About:

"We are ARC - Anna's Rescue Centre, a cat rescue and adoption centre, based in the Rumney area of Cardiff.

We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome stray, homeless and unwanted cats and kittens in to loving forever homes. We personally home check all adopters during the adoption process to make sure each forever home is suited to the individual cats needs and requirements. We neuter all adult cats that come in to our rescue, not only to help control the massive feral cat population in our community, but to ensure these cats can live out the rest of their lives in comfort and harmony.

Established in 2016, we have so far helped over 1,200 cats and kittens, and with your help, that number will increase every day."
