The BCB Location Marker Balloon is a ground to air signalling device, to communicate with search & rescue, when other forms of communication (eg radios) don't work. Design by the military for the military it is quick and easy to use in the jungle or forest, under the canopy.
The carbon fibre bottle holds the Helium, which the user transfers into the 136L over 1m bright, two tone balloon. The kit includes a 75m (250 foot) lightweight tether so the balloon doesn't disappear - the balloon, once filled, can stay aloft for many days. Visible from 10km or more. Can be used day or night. Attaching lightsticks increases visual detection.
A one person operation. It's easy to use and re-usable. No batteries required. Currently in service in Asia.
